The Yellow Book - Engineering Safety Management

The Yellow Book is no longer being maintained. Yellow Book Issue 4 has the status of a withdrawn document and does not represent up-to-date guidance for the GB mainline railway. Yellow Book Issue 4 continues to be available for organisations to use if they wish, but all organisations should note that the guidance contained within it no longer aligns with the current regulatory regime that applies to the GB mainline railway system.

Work is currently underway to provide updated guidance.

	The Office of Rail Regulation (ORR) ORR is the independent safety and economic regulator for Britain's railways. This site includes guidance about railway safety regulation in the UK.
	RSSB This site includes: - Railway Group Standards and associated documents - Railway research reports - Strategic safety plan and safety legislation update - Guidance on Safety Management Systems - Taking Safe Decisions. - Shared Portal Access to Railway Knowledge (SPARK)
	Safety Risk Model RSSB site providing GB railway hazard lists, risk estimates, assessment tools and processes.
	European Railway Agency (ERA) This site includes European technical specifications for interoperability, ERTMS, interoperability and safety directives.
